InsuranceNewsNet Featured My Story — Here Is What I Actually Want You to Take From It
When someone else tells your story, you get to see it from the outside for the first time. And sometimes, what they see is exactly what your clients needed to hear.
InsuranceNewsNet Magazine recently published a feature on my work titled “A Foundation of Faith — with Cheryl D. George.”

I am grateful for it. It is an honor to be recognized in a publication that serves the insurance and financial services profession at a national level.
But if I am being honest with you, a press feature is not the point.
The point is the work. And the work is about you – the self-employed professional, the business owner, the entrepreneur, the family provider – who is building something real and may not have stopped long enough to make sure what you’re building is actually protected.
So yes – read the feature if you want to know my story. But stay here if you want to know what my story actually means for yours.
What Insurance News Net Saw That Most People Miss
The article is titled “A Foundation of Faith” for a reason. Not because faith is a marketing angle. Because faith is genuinely where this work began.
I did not start in insurance. I started in entrepreneurship, leadership, and service. I know what it feels like to build income from scratch, to carry responsibility without a corporate safety net, to make decisions that affect other people’s lives – and to do all of it while trying to build something that lasts.
That background is not incidental to the work I do now. It is the reason the work looks the way it does.
When a self-employed professional sits across from me – or schedules a call, or uses one of our tools – they are not talking to someone who learned about their reality from a textbook. They are talking to someone who lived a version of it. Who understands that the pressure is real, the income is not guaranteed, and the people depending on you do not stop needing things when business slows down.
That is what the feature captured. And it is what I want every person who finds Insure With Cheryl to understand from the start.
The Line That Stopped Me When I Read It
“Too many families, entrepreneurs, and self-employed professionals are building income without enough protection around it.”
That line is from the feature. And it is the truest sentence I could put in front of you right now.
You are working. You are earning. You are building. You are showing up every day and doing the thing.
But how much of what you’ve built would survive if you couldn’t show up tomorrow?
Not a dramatic question. A practical one.
If income stopped for 60 days, what would happen? If you became sick or injured and couldn’t work for six months, what would happen? If something happened to you permanently, what would happen to the people who depend on your income?
Most self-employed professionals cannot answer those questions clearly. Not because they haven’t thought about it- but because the answers are uncomfortable, and there has always been something more urgent on the to-do list.
That is exactly how protection becomes an afterthought.
And an afterthought is not a plan.
What "Protection Is The Plan" Actually Means
People sometimes hear “Protection Is The Plan™™” and assume it means buy a life insurance policy and check the box.
That is not what it means.
It means protection is not a reaction to a crisis. It is not something you buy after a diagnosis, after a business failure, after a health scare, or after the income drops. By then, some options have closed. Some premiums have increased. Some doors that were open at 35 are shut at 55.
Protection is the plan means you build the foundation before the storm arrives. It means your income has a structure around it. It means your family has a plan if you can’t carry it anymore. It means your business has a strategy that does not collapse the moment something goes wrong with you personally.
That is the conversation InsuranceNewsNet recognized as important. That is the conversation I have been building Insure With Cheryl to deliver.
Not as a policy sale. As a foundation.
What the Feature Did Not Have Room to Say
A magazine profile has a word count. There is only so much that fits.
What did not make it into the feature is the specific work – the tools, the systems, the strategies, and the step-by-step approach that helps self-employed professionals actually build that foundation.
So let me say it here.
The Infinite Banking Concept is one of the strategies I use with clients who are ready to think differently about how their money is protected, stored, and accessed. A properly structured whole life insurance policy can provide permanent protection for the family while building accessible cash value that the policy owner controls. For self-employed professionals who need both protection and liquidity, it is worth understanding. (See our blog: Why Self-Employed Professionals Are Using the Infinite Banking Concept).
Cash flow clarity is the starting point for almost every financial decision. Before a client and I talk about protection strategy, retirement, or long-term planning, I want to know
what is coming in, what is going out, what is exposed, and what is being ignored. Most people are surprised by what their own numbers reveal when they actually look.
A portfolio of protection is rarely one product. It is life insurance, disability insurance, health coverage, long-term care planning, and sometimes business continuation planning – all working together. The goal is never to sell a product. The goal is to understand the person, understand the risk, and build a plan that actually fits.
Education before decisions. A client who understands what they own, why they own it, and how it protects them is a client who makes better decisions for the rest of their life. That is the standard we hold at Insure With Cheryl, and it is what makes the work different.
For Those Who Are Finding Insure With Cheryl for the First Time
If the InsuranceNewsNet feature brought you here, welcome.
You are likely a self-employed professional, a business owner, an entrepreneur, or a family provider who is serious about building something that lasts. You probably already know you need a stronger financial foundation. You may not be sure where to start.
Start with clarity.
Before any strategy conversation, before any product recommendation, before any consultation – start by understanding your own numbers. What is your cash flow actually doing? Where are your protection gaps? What would your financial picture look like if income stopped today?
Those answers change everything that comes after.
Here Is How to Take the Next Step
Step 1 – Start with the free tools. The Cash Flow Reset Calculator and the Financial Exposure Snapshot at insurewithcheryl.com/programs-and-tools give you an honest look at where your money is going and where you may be exposed. Free. No obligation. Takes under 90 seconds.
Step 2 – Go deeper with a paid tool. The Cash Flow Reset ($97) shows you where hidden money exists in your current cash flow. The Financial Exposure Report ($129) reveals your full financial risk picture – protection gaps, debt pressure, income vulnerability, and what needs attention first. The Financial Bundle ($197) gets you both in one move.
Step 3 – When you’re ready, let’s talk. Once you know your numbers, Dr. Cheryl and Team can review your full picture and have a real conversation about what a stronger plan looks like for your situation specifically. No pressure. No guesswork. Just clarity.
The feature is the introduction. The work is the invitation.
And the work starts when you’re ready to look honestly at the foundation you’ve already built – and decide what it needs to be stronger.
